Holi is a popular Indian Festival. Celebrated in many states of the country, it is also known as the ”The Festival of Colours”.
Holi opens a new beginning from past error. It is a festive day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and repair broken relationships. The festival also celebrates the beginning of a good spring harvest season.
People gather the night before Holi and perform religious rituals and pray for the destruction of their internal evil. The next morning people start the real carnival traditions and smear each other with colored powders; they sometimes use water guns and water-filled balloons for more fun. Groups of people march the streets with drums and other instruments, singing and dancing. People also share Holi delicacies.
